Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On September 12, Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov, the Minister of Internal Affairs, met with the delegation headed by Mr Ali Erlikaya, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, who was on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

The visit of the Turkish delegation to Uzbekistan took place in accordance with the agreements reached during the official visit of the head of state to this country on June 6-7 this year.

During the meeting, the parties acknowledged that the mutual relations between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries have increased, as well as a new level of systematic collaboration in combating transnational crimes and ensuring public safety. They also recognized that efforts had been made to implement the program efficiently.

It is noted that close relations have been established between the two ministries regarding professional personnel training. One of the best examples is the memorandum signed by the Turkish Police Academy in 2018 and the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy in 2022 with the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. The academic and pedagogical staff of Turkish law enforcement agencies participate actively in the training of field cadets in our country, as well as in the process of imparting modern knowledge to master's students, in order to ensure the practical implementation of mutual agreements.

The effective fight against cybercrime is one of the special directions of cooperation. During the discussion, it was emphasized that increasing the level of bilateral cooperation and continuously exchanging mutual experiences is essential.

At the event, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, human trafficking, illegal drug trade and other types of transnational crimes, to organize special training courses for the employees of internal affairs bodies in the field of combating cybercrimes and digital criminology, with the newly established Research Institute of Criminology within the Ministry. They discussed key issues such as establishing mutual cooperation between scientific research centers under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Gendarmerie of Turkey.

At the friendly and constructive meeting, promising tasks were identified to develop mutual cooperation.

During their visit to our country, the Turkish partners will be familiarized with the activities of ensuring the safety of tourist facilities in the city of Tashkent and Samarkand region.
