Uzbekistan wins first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Kurash Championship

The Asian Kurash Championship among Seniors took place in Cheongju, South Korea, from July 30 to August 5, 2023. This prestigious event featured approximately 365 athletes from 19 countries competing across eight distinct weight categories.
During this championship, the Uzbek men's national team was composed of eight dedicated athletes, including three members from the internal affairs field, who proudly represented and defended the honor of our nation. The Uzbek national team achieved first place in the overall team standings after an impressive performance throughout the competition, winning four gold medals and two bronze medals.
Among the individual achievements, Junior Sergeant Sanjar Saidkulov of the Jizzakh regional department of internal affairs achieved gold in the 60 kg weight category. Additionally, Sergeant Muhammad Jumaev from the Navoi regional department of internal affairs also claimed a gold medal in the 73 kg weight category. Moreover, Sergeant Botir Kholiyorov, representing the Kashkadarya regional internal affairs department, won a silver medal in the 100 kg weight category.
In the overall team standings, Vietnam finished in second place, and the Indian team placed third.
