The Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a reporting meeting to review the initiatives undertaken this year to enhance transparency within internal affairs agencies, address public appeals, and combat corruption in the field.
It remains one of the foremost objectives of our national policy to establish an open and effective dialogue with citizens and to protect their rights and interests. In internal affairs agencies, public councils serve more than just as oversight committees. They contribute constructive proposals and act as key partners in the promotion of human rights and freedoms.
Currently, the Public Council consists of 29 distinguished intellectuals and public activists from a wide variety of societal domains, including prominent lawyers, journalists, civil society leaders, and youth representatives. This diverse representation enriches the council's operations, allowing for comprehensive consideration of the interests of different societal groups during decision-making processes.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, members of the Public Council, heads of the ministry's specialized services, and media representatives. The meeting started with remarks from the Chairman of the Public Council, Yodgor Sa'diev, who provided an overview of the Council's updated members.
Major General Aziz Tashpulatov, Minister of Internal Affairs, presented a report detailing the measures undertaken to promote openness and transparency within internal affairs agencies, enhance the institution's public image, manage public appeals, and implement anti-corruption reforms.
The report outlined the development of mechanisms aimed at optimizing service digitization. These mechanisms included boosting personnel legal literacy, reinforcing control and accountability systems, and identifying and rectifying existing challenges and deficiencies.
During the meeting, a video presentation detailing the activities of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was screened.
Council members were also given the opportunity to express their proposals and perspectives on fostering sustainable development within internal affairs agencies. They stressed the need for timely responses to public appeals and complaints as a means of enhancing the system's image.
The meeting concluded with an acknowledgment and expression of gratitude from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the particularly active members of the Public Council for their commendable efforts in promoting transparency and openness within internal affairs agencies and establishing effective public monitoring. This recognition also coincided with the celebration of "June 27 - Day of Press and Mass Media Workers."
