Cooperation in the Field of Internal Affairs Discussed Within the Framework of the Organization of Turkic States

Before the event, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the Ministers of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, the head of state warmly welcomed the ministers and emphasized that their visit plays an important role in strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He noted the need to develop collaboration in the fields of security, law enforcement, and the fight against crime.
Following the meeting, the second gathering of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States took place.
In line with the agenda, participants discussed coordination of joint efforts in combating transnational organized crime and the establishment of information exchange mechanisms to counter the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors. The necessity of taking joint measures to prevent, detect, and investigate crimes committed using information technologies was also emphasized.
Furthermore, the prospects for cooperation in digitalization between the internal affairs agencies of member states were explored. Initiatives were proposed to exchange experiences on the effective use of digital solutions and innovative technologies, enhance information sharing, and implement joint projects.
At the conclusion of the event, participants signed a Joint Statement reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation within the framework of the Organization and strengthening effective partnerships in law enforcement.
As part of this high-level forum, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of public order and internal security.
During these meetings, the parties exchanged detailed views on combating crime, neutralizing threats posed by international terrorism and extremism, combating human trafficking, and countering the illicit drug trade.
The negotiations also highlighted the importance of information and experience sharing, conducting joint training exercises, and strengthening the professional development of law enforcement personnel. The parties agreed to further develop institutional-level ties and pursue practical, results-oriented joint initiatives.
