The first historical museum in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system was established in 1974 and was renovated in the years of independence. Furthermore, in 2018, the "History Museum of Internal Affairs Bodies" in the ministry building was expanded and enriched with historical exhibits in honour of the 27th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
The newly established "History Museum of Internal Affairs" was created on the initiative of the leadership of the Ministry within the JAR complex belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to provide a wide range of educational and recreational opportunities for individuals, including young people and older adults.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the heads of the law enforcement bodies of our country, field officials and veterans attended the opening ceremony of the museum.
At the event, Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov, Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that studying and teaching the system's history is an essential tool in forming the ideas of loyalty and courage to the country among the growing youth. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to a group of veterans who dedicated their time and energy to this creative project.
After officials and veterans cut a symbolic ribbon, the museum's exhibits were introduced.
The museum provides an opportunity to view the formation and development of the field of public security over history, service uniforms from various years, samples of weapons, equipment, and special tools, and the history of the development of internal affairs bodies.
This newly constructed museum covers 800 square meters and is almost twice the size of its predecessor. There are more than four thousand exhibits. Separate corners reflect the history of all sectorial services of the Ministry.
The formation of structures that maintain Uzbekistan's security and internal order, the reforms of internal affairs bodies during independence, the activities of the Ministry's sectoral services, such as "training personnel in the system of internal affairs bodies, professional and combat training of employees and their social protection", are just a few examples. There are also directions such as "New Uzbekistan — new internal affairs bodies."
A separate pavilion in the museum honours the brave servicemen who died while serving the country and illuminates their life paths and heroism.
Constructing the symbolic statue of the "Officer of Internal Affairs leading his children to Spirituality" outside the museum embodies a unique spiritual and educational message.
The museum will undoubtedly serve our nation for many years in developing young people's spiritual lives, realising national identity, and determining true patriotism.
