On November 28, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specialized units of the MIA and the State Police of the Republic of Latvia, and representatives of the customs services of the two countries participated in the meeting of the Uzbekistan-Latvia joint commission on Combating Organized Crime, Terrorism, and Illegal Circulation of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, and their Precursors.
During the meeting, bilateral cooperation issues were discussed. The sides assessed the state of cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries in combating the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs and discussed future prospects.
Participants emphasized the importance of practical cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs departments fighting illegal drug distribution and the customs services of the two republics. A new level of cooperation between the two organizations was reached in this regard through the conclusion of prospective agreements.
