The working group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs performed systematic on-site inspections in Fergana region aimed at strengthening public safety, maintaining a stable criminal situation, and ensuring peace and security for the population.
During the visits, particular attention was paid to the orderly and safe organization of New Year’s holiday events in mahallas, the prevention of possible problems related to seasonal energy resources, and the uninterrupted operation of heating systems at social facilities, including educational and medical institutions. In addition, the readiness of general education schools to receive students ahead of the upcoming academic season was analyzed targetedly.
In a meeting attended by sector leaders and field veterans, members of the working group reviewed the activities of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs and provided a comprehensive assessment of achievements in crime prevention and public safety by 2025.
The work of the newly established Operational Control Center in the region was also presented. Specialists from the center highlighted the capabilities of the modern, artificial intelligence–based platform. They also emphasized its role in the early detection of crimes and offenses, and the current progress of digitalization processes in the region.
The visit included the study of the "Markaz" mahalla of Rishton district, which is considered to have a complex criminal environment. The interaction among the “mahalla seven,” their cooperation with the prevention inspector, and joint efforts with local activists were analyzed. During the dialogue, additional measures to strengthen crime prevention and public safety were identified.
In addition, prevention activities in the "2-Shaldiramok" mahalla of Kokand city, which is classified as a complex area, were reviewed. The principal goals were to maintain stability in the criminal situation, accelerate digitalization, enhance social prevention measures, conduct targeted work with persons under supervision, and prevent crimes and offenses.
Following the results of the studies, meetings were held with city and district officials to discuss issues related to energy supply. These issues included the reliable operation of heating systems in social facilities, and preparations by educational institutions for the upcoming school year. Priority tasks were outlined to ensure a safe, peaceful, and stable environment in mahallas throughout 2026.
