Participants emphasized that all feasibility, engineering, and environmental assessments of the project are being conducted in line with international standards. The environmental and technical analysis is being carried out by "Yuchi Energy Consulting" LLC, with particular attention to ensuring occupational safety, environmental protection, and public engagement throughout the implementation process.
Speakers underscored the importance of minimizing air pollutant emissions during construction, preventing any negative impacts of excavation works on local flora and fauna and maintaining continuous environmental monitoring at all stages of the project.
The initiative is being implemented in cooperation between JSC National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project foresees the construction of a 224-kilometer 500 kV transmission line connecting the Sogdiana substation in the Samarkand region to the Talimarjan substation in the Kashkadarya region.
The project aims to strengthen the reliability of "Uzbekistan’s national power grid", reduce supply interruptions and ensure a stable and sustainable electricity supply to local communities and industries. Upon completion, it is expected to enhance energy stability, balance system load and improve service quality across the Nurabad, Urgut, Pastdargom and Samarkand districts.
