World Paper Free Day: Choosing a Digital Future
2025-10-23 09:30:00 / News

The purpose of this campaign is to remind us how many natural resources are consumed in the production of a single sheet of paper and to highlight the importance of transitioning to digital and sustainable alternatives.
Each year, more than 400 million tons of paper are produced worldwide. To manufacture just one sheet, approximately 10 liters of water, as well as significant amounts of energy and wood, are required. To meet global demand, more than 15 million hectares of forest are cut down annually and up to 40% of all paper produced is used for office needs and packaging.
Each of us can help reduce this impact: print only when necessary, use both sides of the sheet, switch to electronic documents and recycle paper whenever possible.
Let’s protect our trees — the source of life, clean air and water. May this day serve as a step toward mindful consumption and greater care for our planet.
