The main theme of the forum is “Zero Waste Movement: People, Places, Transformation.” Participants are discussing practical steps and strategies for transitioning to a zero-waste society, including the development of a circular economy.
Background: The “Zero Waste Foundation” was established in 2023 under the leadership of Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation, Emine Erdoğan. The Foundation’s goal is to promote the “Zero Waste” initiative and foster an environmentally conscious society that embraces a zero-waste lifestyle.
The forum program includes high-level meetings, multilateral panel discussions, and sessions for exchanging best practices. Moreover, there will be events dedicated to topics such as zero waste, climate and society, sustainable cities and the calculation of carbon and water footprints.
This forum serves as a significant international platform for sharing knowledge and experience in sustainable development and waste management. Its aim is to advance the concept of sustainable consumption and production, reduce waste volumes and cultivate an ecological culture on a global scale.
