Over 400 littering offences recorded in one day

On October 16, a total of 443 littering offences were recorded across all regions of the country as part of the nationwide Month of Cleanliness and Order. Offenders were fined a total of 310.34 million sums. In addition, preventive measures aimed at preventing environmental pollution were carried out with 1,095 enterprises and citizens. In addition, the areas were cleaned of waste.
A working group comprising representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard and the Internal Affairs bodies has been established. Continuous environmental monitoring has been put in place across the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as in all regions, districts and cities. Surveillance through online monitoring cameras installed by the Ministry has also been strengthened. Strict measures are being taken in accordance with the law against those who violate environmental regulations.
For reference: on October 15, within the same initiative, more than 300 violations were identified, and fines totaling over 220 million sums were imposed. Inspection and monitoring activities are ongoing.
