Large-scale efforts are being made to increase youth participation in environmental protection

At the meeting, Zarina Abdullaeva, Head of Department at the Ministry of Ecology, emphasized the importance of active youth participation in educational events, seminars, campaigns, and international forums dedicated to environmental protection and the prevention of ecological problems.
It was noted that several events are planned for 2025, including the video contests “Gifts of Nature” and “Best Eco-Friendly School”, as well as drawing competitions on the themes “Protecting Native Nature Is Our Sacred Duty” and “Yashil Makon (Green Space)”, along with other initiatives.
During the meeting, active participants in environmental awareness activities were awarded copies of the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
For reference: In recent years, large-scale efforts have been made to increase youth involvement in environmental protection, the rational use of natural resources, strengthening ecological education, and uniting young people around shared environmental values. In particular, between January and September 2025, more than 35 events were organized across the country with the participation of volunteers, eco-activists, and the general public, attracting a total of 2.1 million participants.
