The initiative is organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Tashkent City Department of Ecology, and the Main Department of Internal Affairs. From 10 September to the present day, 26,900 vehicles have been inspected at traffic police checkpoints, on city streets and at the entry and exit points of transport enterprises.
For reference: the “Clean Air” campaign is held nationwide on a regular basis to ensure the implementation of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection of Atmospheric Air” and “On Environmental Control,” as well as to carry out state environmental monitoring of vehicles in operation.
During inspections in Tashkent, 367 vehicles were found to exceed permissible emission standards. Drivers of vehicles that grossly violate the established limits for pollutants in exhaust gases are subject to appropriate measures in accordance with the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
The second phase of the “Clean Air” month in the capital will continue until 10 October.
