On the occasion of International Bird Day, on April 1, several events were organized in protected natural areas under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
In particular, the action "Save the Birds" was held in the Chatkal State Biosphere Reserve. During the event, presentations and films about birds were shown, and students' environmental knowledge was tested.
At the event, held in the National Nature Park "South Ustyurt" and the "Sudochye-Akpetki" State Reserve, young people and students were given recommendations on the conservation of birds and their populations, as well as on the conservation of endangered bird species.
In the Nurata State Nature Reserve, the attention of young eco-activists, schoolchildren, and students was drawn to bird protection activities. Information on rare birds found on the territory and listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, as well as on the ongoing work on their protection, was presented in the National Nature Park "Aral Sea Region". An excursion and a quiz, "Wings of the Planet" were organized for schoolchildren in the Zarafshan National Nature Park.
International Bird Day was widely celebrated in Zaamin, Surkhan state reserves, and other protected areas under the slogan "Let's protect birds".
For reference: International Bird Day has been celebrated since 1902, when the International Convention for the Protection of Birds Useful in Agriculture was adopted. The goal is to instill in the younger generation a love for birds and to form in their minds a sense of belonging to nature and ecological culture.
