For reference: In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 5863 of October 30, 2019, the operation and sale of wheeled vehicles of categories “M” and “N” equipped with gas, gasoline and diesel engines that do not meet the Euro-4 environmental standards has been prohibited since January 1, 2022.
Until now, these requirements were regulated through the environmental certification system established by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 50 of January 30, 2020, “On the Regulation on the Procedure for Environmental Certification of New Wheeled Vehicles of Categories ‘M’ and ‘N’ Imported into the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
According to Presidential Resolution No. 78 of February 27, 2025, “On Additional Measures to Create Favorable Conditions for the Sustainable Development of the Service Sector,” state functions related to the environmental certification of new wheeled vehicles of categories “M” and “N” imported into Uzbekistan were transferred to the private sector.
In this context, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 597 on September 19, 2025. Under this document, compliance of new wheeled vehicles of categories “M” and “N” imported into the country with environmental requirements will be assessed on the basis of the General Technical Regulation on the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 237 of April 25, 2017.
At the same time, verification of compliance of vehicles with "Euro-4" environmental standards remains an integral part of the conformity assessment system and is carried out by accredited conformity assessment bodies.
Thus, the certification procedures for wheeled vehicles of categories “M” and “N” imported into Uzbekistan have been significantly simplified.
