Central Asia Badminton Leaders Meeting Held in Tashkent

The meeting brought together key leaders, including Vice President of Badminton Asia, along with representatives from national badminton federations and Badminton Asia officials.
In his welcoming address, Mr. Mohammad Reza Pouria, President of the Iran Badminton Federation and Vice President of Badminton Asia, expressed gratitude to the organizers, the Uzbekistan Badminton Federation, and the Badminton Asia representatives for the high-level organization of the meeting. He noted the importance of such platforms for strengthening regional cooperation in the development of badminton.
Mr. Kabir Jurazoda, President of the Tajikistan Badminton Federation and Chair of the Finance Department of Badminton Asia, also addressed the participants, emphasizing the high standard of the championship and the leaders’ meeting, while extending appreciation for the warm hospitality and Uzbek traditions.
During the meeting, leaders of national federations shared their greetings and highlighted their commitment to the growth of badminton in the region. The agenda included discussions on youth and grassroots development, standardized coach certification, regional tournament calendar synchronization, sponsorship opportunities, digital promotion strategies and initiatives to increase female participation in badminton.
The participants agreed to establish a Regional Youth Development Program, strengthen cooperation in coaching and technical training, and enhance collaboration with the Badminton World Federation (BWF). A monitoring and evaluation framework was also outlined to ensure the effective implementation of agreed programs.
The meeting concluded with a summary of key agreements, allocation of responsibilities, and a proposal for rotational hosting of future leaders’ meetings in Central Asia.
