Illegal Sand and Gravel Extraction Caused Environmental Damage Exceeding 83 Billion Sums

During the inspection, it was established that sand and gravel were being illegally extracted from the bed of the Chirchik River, which flows through Kuyichirchik District, using a front loader without state registration plates. The extracted mixture was being loaded into a HOWO truck with the license plate number “10 W 373 GB.”
As a result, the requirements of the laws “On Nature Protection” and “On Subsurface Resources” were violated and in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 666 of November 23, 2022, damage to nature was caused in the amount of 83 billion 357 million 600 thousand 256 sums.
In addition, it was revealed that part of the site where the extraction had taken place had been backfilled with soil, clay and stone mixtures. Measurements were taken on the remaining section of the territory.
In connection with the incident, the truck found at the scene was temporarily impounded. The collected materials have been submitted to the Tashkent Regional Prosecutor’s Office for legal assessment of the case.
