The role of sustainable tourism in environmental protection was emphasized

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Jusipbek Kazbekov, Vice-Rector of the “Green University” Shahriyor Nurulloyev, as well as professors and experts from leading higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Germany.
The main objective of the international conference was to unite the scientific approaches, practical experience, and innovative perspectives of scholars, researchers, practitioners, and international experts in advancing sustainable tourism in Central Asia.
The discussions highlighted topics such as: “Sustainable Tourism in Uzbekistan: Opportunities and Challenges Toward 2030,” “Tourism Dialogues and Conflict Prevention with the Participation of Civil Society,” “Climate Change and Tourism Transformation: Theoretical Approaches and Best Practices,” “Undiscovered Tourism Opportunities in Uzbekistan” and “Sustainability Prism 4.0: A Model for Sustainable Tourism in World Heritage Cities.”
In addition, the conference addressed issues such as the bioclimatic conditions of tourism routes in Uzbekistan, the role of sustainable rural tourism in economic development, the prospects for creative tourism, rural tourism and heritage preservation in Central Asia, green financing and sustainable tourism, culture and tourism motivation, as well as the importance of ecotourism in fragile landscapes.
At the conclusion of the conference, scientific, theoretical, and practical recommendations were developed. It was particularly emphasized that sustainable tourism plays a crucial role not only in economic development, but also in environmental protection, the preservation of cultural heritage and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
