Sources of Air Pollution Are Being Eliminated in Tashkent

The working groups carry out continuous monitoring of industrial enterprises, greenhouses and other facilities that may pollute the atmosphere. From January to August 2025, 1,452 facilities were recorded, 174 night raids were conducted and 281 violations were identified. Administrative protocols were drawn up against 154 individuals. Lawsuits seeking temporary suspension of operations were filed against 20 facilities, and 179 violations were remedied. In addition, 11 modern boilers, 19 filters and 12 dust-removal units were installed.
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 81 of 31 May 2023, “green belts” are being established on the premises of large industrial enterprises and in adjacent areas. In 2025, manufacturers of building materials and other enterprises in categories I–II are required to plant 200,000 trees and shrubs; 79,490 seedlings were planted during the spring season.
Furthermore, under the annual “Clean Air” campaign, which is carried out in two stages, 40,050 vehicles were inspected in Tashkent during the first stage (10 April–10 May). Excess emissions were detected in 586 vehicles, and the identified deficiencies were corrected in accordance with established procedures. The measures taken prevented the release of 4,700 tonnes of pollutants into the atmosphere. The second stage of the campaign (10 September–10 October) has now begun in the capital.
Efforts to improve air quality and eliminate harmful factors in Tashkent are ongoing.
