“Hedgehog-and-Snake Soup”: Case Submitted to Court

A video recently circulated on social media showing a man preparing soup from a snake.
The incident was investigated by the Environmental Control Inspectorate of the Fergana Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, together with officers of the 1st Regional Patrol Unit.
The inspection revealed that in the sand dunes located in the Zilkha mahalla of the Altyaryk district and the Boston Buvo mahalla of the Buvaydin district, the offender had illegally kept a hedgehog and a snake, slaughtered them to make soup and attempted to sell it.
Following the investigation, the relevant documents were filed and the case has been submitted to the judicial authorities for further action.
