More than 30 illegal lime kilns dismantled in Navoi region

A working group comprising representatives of the Navoi Regional Department of Ecology, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the regional Department of Internal Affairs and the National Guard conducted on-site inspections of lime kilns.
The inspection of kilns located in the "Yangiariq" mahalla of Karmana district established that pollutants were being emitted into the atmosphere. In addition, an inventory check revealed that several lime-burning production workshops in Karmana district had been operating illegally.
A report was drawn up in accordance with the Code of Administrative Responsibility. In addition, 36 illegal lime kilns in the "Yangiariq" mahalla of Karmana district were dismantled for non-compliance with the established requirements.
Inspections are ongoing, and further illegal lime-burning kilns are slated for dismantling.
