Enforcement measures have been taken against the offender who illegally uprooted juniper trees

It was established that a resident of Urgut District, Samarkand Region—citizen Y.J.—had unlawfully uprooted two juniper trees within the territory of the Jizzakh Reservoir.
These actions constitute a violation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection and Use of Vegetation.” An administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender. In accordance with Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, a fine of 25 based calculated value (BCV)—UZS 9.3 million—was imposed and environmental damages were assessed in the amount of UZS 7.5 million. Both amounts have been recovered in full to the benefit of the state.
The Ministry of Ecology reminds the public that every instance of harm to nature entails strict liability. Protecting the environment is the duty of every citizen.
