10 Ecological Violations Detected in Khorezm Region in One Day

During the inspections, ten violations of environmental legislation were recorded; administrative protocols were issued against the offenders and fines totaling 26,072,000 sums were imposed.
The violations detected included:
- contamination of water resources (Koshkupir District, Bekobod mahalla);
- dumping of household and solid communal waste in unauthorized locations (Koshkupir District, Arablar mahalla; Shavat District, the mahalla named after K. Otaniyazov);
-discharge of liquid waste in unauthorized areas (Shavat District);
-storage and burning of plant residues (Khiva District, Dashyok mahalla; Shavat District, Kiyot mahalla);
- other offences provided for by the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility.
Fines ranged from three to twenty base calculation units — equivalent to between 2,047,000 and 8,024,000 sums per offender.
As part of the raids, cleanup operations were carried out to remove household and construction waste and members of the public were given explanations about the need to comply with environmental regulations.
The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change urges citizens to treat the environment with care and reminds them that failure to meet environmental requirements entails administrative liability.
