At the conference, Uzbekistan presented its national pavilion, which harmoniously combined elements of cultural heritage, sustainable development and a modern vision for the country’s future. The pavilion was designed as a traditional Uzbek hovli (an inner courtyard), reflecting national colour and hospitality. Participants and guests were able to learn about Uzbekistan’s culture, handicrafts, culinary traditions and tourism potential.
Uzbekistan’s pavilion was visited by high-level guests, including leaders of Central Asian countries, Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, King Mswati III of Eswatini, and many others.
The conference featured a high-level panel session titled “Enhancing Adaptive Capacity to Climate Change and Natural Disasters and Strengthening Resilience,” during which Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation on the country’s national efforts to combat climate change and promote sustainable development.
Special attention was also paid to tourism development: representatives of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan took part in the roundtable “Tourism: a Driving Force for Economic Diversification and Inclusivity in Landlocked Developing Countries.” The session showcased the country’s achievements in tourism, including infrastructure development projects, cultural heritage promotion and expanded international cooperation.
Uzbekistan’s participation in the Third UN Conference in Avaza therefore served not only as a platform to showcase its cultural wealth but also as an opportunity to highlight significant environmental and economic initiatives aimed at sustainable development.
