Violator to Pay Over 15 Million Sums in Damages

In Paxtachi District, Samarkand Region, joint inspection raids were carried out by state inspectors from the regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change together with staff from the Paxtachi State Forestry Enterprise.
During the raid, it was found that a citizen identified as H.A., while operating a Volvo excavator (registration number 70 QA 901), had cleared 4 cubic metres of naturally growing grebenshchik shrubs while building a road to the Zarafshan River riverbed. His actions caused damage to vegetation valued at 4,944,000 sums.
Under Part 1 of Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the offender was fined 10,300,000 sums. In total, H.A. is required to pay 15,244,000 sums in damages and fines.
