Nearly 17 Billion Sums in Environmental Damage Reported in Bekabad District

During the raids, it was found that citizens F.T. and U.K., using a truck with license plate 20 Q 923 DA and special loading equipment, were illegally extracting and transporting sand and gravel from the Syrdarya riverbed, located in the "Achamayli" mahalla of Bekabad District.
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 14 dated January 1, 2024, “On measures for ordering of production of nonmetallic materials in reservoirs,” and based on the corresponding provision of the “Regulations on the Procedure for Calculating Damage Caused to Natural Objects by the Illegal Extraction of Non-Metallic Materials,” approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 666 of November 23, 2022, the environmental damage was estimated at 16 billion 912 million 862 thousand 600 sums.
The collected materials have been forwarded to the Tashkent Regional Prosecutor’s Office for legal evaluation. Inspection efforts are ongoing.
