Goitered gazelle on a camera trap

A camera trap installed on the territory of the "Aktag-Tamdi" State Reserve under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change has recorded rare footage of goitered gazelles.

The goitered gazelle is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the IUCN Red List as a vulnerable, declining and mosaically distributed subspecies. At the beginning of the XXI century, its number was estimated at 5-6 thousand individuals; nowadays, about 4000 individuals are preserved. During the spring count, 35 goitered gazelles were recorded on the territory of "Aktag-Tamdi".
For reference: The State Reserve "Aktag-Tamdi" was established in February 2022 on the territory of the Tamdy district of the Navoi region. There are 14 species of mammals, 22 species of birds and 7 species of reptiles. Sixteen of these species are included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
