To prevent illegal fishing using prohibited methods, the State Inspectorate for Environmental Control under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, together with inspectors from the Syrdarya Regional Department of Ecology, conducted an operational raid.

During the operation, a "Moskvich" vehicle was inspected while leaving the coastal zone of the Syrdarya River. The vehicle’s trunk contained one electric fishing rod, one inflatable boat, three batteries, and 19 fish.
Among the catch were two white amurs, seven asps, nine crucian carps, and one Turkestan barbel — the latter listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was determined that the fish had been illegally caught using an electric fishing device on the Syrdarya River.
The total damage to wildlife is estimated at 495 million sums.
All case materials have been forwarded to the relevant law enforcement authorities for legal review.
The raids are ongoing.
