Illegal possession of Nile Crocodile found in Tashkent

The staff of the State Inspectorate for Environmental Control of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, conducted operational inspections regarding a reported issue.During the raid, it was established that a resident of Tashkent kept a Nile crocodile at their place of residence.
According to Resolution No. 736 of the Cabinet of Ministers, titled "On measures to improve the order of keeping wild animals," which will take effect on January 1, 2025, individuals will be prohibited from keeping certain wild animals in captivity (based on an approved list) and from using them in circus performances.
The crocodile has been transferred to the Tashkent Zoo. An administrative protocol has been filed against the offender in accordance with Part 1, Article 92 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility. All collected materials have been submitted to the court for legal evaluation and appropriate action.
Environmental control in this area continues in all regions of the country.
