“The project we signed today focuses on the development of ‘green cities.’ Much depends on how streets are designed, how the transportation system functions, how much green space is planned, and how water resources are managed. We are providing both advisory and technical support in all these areas, especially in the densely populated cities of the Fergana Valley — this is the main focus of the project.”

According to him, Germany is currently implementing around a dozen initiatives in the region totaling over €100 million, and jointly manages another €100 million with the Green Climate Fund.
