The First International Environmental Exhibition — Eco Expo — kicks off in Tashkent

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Aziz Abdukhakimov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov; Deputy Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan, Bakyt Asangul; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda; Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, Nury Jumashov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Won Do-yeon; Secretary-General of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), Ivonne Higuero; and the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan, Ms. Roli Asthana — among other high-level guests.
In his opening address, Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov stated: “Today’s exhibition is a showcase of technologies and a starting point for deep cooperation between regions, sectors and nations. Uzbekistan is ready to serve as a regional platform for promoting environmental technologies across Central Asia.”
He also stressed the urgency of tackling global environmental challenges and expressed confidence that Eco Expo Central Asia would serve as a platform for developing innovative approaches to addressing climate and environmental issues.
Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 is more than just an exhibition — it is a next-generation platform where experts, companies, startups and representatives of national and international organisations come together to present cutting-edge, practical solutions for a greener future. Key themes include climate resilience, resource efficiency, and the adoption of clean technologies.
The exhibition features a wide range of sustainable technologies, from artificial intelligence and renewable energy solutions to water conservation systems and innovations in environmental education.
Participating countries include France, the Republic of Korea, Tajikistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Austria, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Qatar, China, Croatia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Belgium, India, the United Kingdom, Japan, Norway, Hungary, Türkiye, Georgia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Latvia and Palestine — a testament to the strong international interest in advancing Central Asia’s green agenda.
Organised for the first time in the Central Asian region by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the exhibition is being held in connection with the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy”, declared at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The event underscores Uzbekistan’s commitment to advancing environmental reform and strengthening global cooperation in this vital field.
