Ivonne Higuero, Secretary-General of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), shared her thoughts on the importance of holding Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 in the region. According to her, Central Asia faces serious environmental challenges, including the global biodiversity loss crisis — an issue confronting all countries worldwide.

Ms. Higuero emphasized that hosting such an exhibition in Central Asia is particularly important, as it allows exploring ways to preserve the region’s unique flora and fauna. “This is not just about Uzbekistan — it is a task for the entire region. Only by joining forces can we achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030,” she noted.
