Youth initiatives addressing environmental and tourism issues in the spotlight

The open dialogues brought together representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, regional khokimiyats, tourism departments, prosecutors’ offices, university students, members of the “Young Environmentalists” movement, the Council of Young Tourism Ambassadors, and other active youth engaged in environmental initiatives.
At the beginning of the meetings, participants were provided with detailed information on the development of youth councils, the reforms underway, the conditions created for council members, achieved results, and upcoming plans. Special attention was given to proposals and initiatives aimed at further improving their activities.
The discussions also covered the potential for ecotourism, the enhancement of educational outreach through digital technologies, the promotion of youth environmental activism, initiatives under the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,” as well as current challenges and systemic shortcomings in the field, along with proposals to address them.
The meetings concluded with the identification of future measures to be implemented with the active involvement of youth, reflecting the high level of trust placed in the younger generation.
The organization of these meetings marked an important step toward supporting youth-led initiatives, increasing their civic engagement, and ensuring meaningful participation of young people in environmental and tourism reforms.
