The event brought together over 80 participants, including representatives of key ministries, educators, and experts from across Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as invited guests from Kazakhstan and Russia.
The program is being implemented with the support of Nestlé Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, and the Republican Education Center. This multi-sectoral approach allows the program to address essential aspects of raising the next generation — from proper nutrition and physical activity to environmental awareness and respect for nature.
“This conference is more than just a review of results — it reaffirms that caring for children's health must begin at an early age. The "Health Routes" program has proven effective, and we plan to scale it up nationwide,” emphasized Sardor Radjabov, Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, more than 12,000 students from Tashkent, 12 regions, and Karakalpakstan participated in special lessons and activities under the program. A particular focus was placed on the environmental module: children learned to make healthy choices at supermarkets, took part in creative competitions, and built their own “balanced plate,” paying attention not only to health but also to sustainable consumption principles.
“We see meaningful change in the children participating in the program — they are becoming more aware and caring. This is an investment in the sustainable future of our country,” said Dilshoda Norboeva, Director of the Republican Education Center.
The conference featured best practices in program implementation. Active coordinators and teachers shared their experiences in engaging students and delivering practical, hands-on lessons. International guests from Kazakhstan and Russia presented their own initiatives and proposed new methodological approaches.
“For Nestlé, supporting educational initiatives is a strategic investment in the development of future generations. The Routes to Health program is a vivid example of effective partnership between business, government, and educators,” noted Sergey Lisyuk, CEO of Nestlé Uzbekistan.
A key part of the event was a teacher training session focused on preventing professional burnout, fostering effective communication with children and colleagues, and developing public speaking and performance skills essential for modern teaching.
For reference: The "Health Routes" program in Uzbekistan is part of the global Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative, which aims to promote healthy habits among children. It is an updated version of the program that was successfully implemented in schools of the republic from 2013 to 2018. Today, its content has been enriched with new and timely topics, including environmental awareness and sustainable lifestyles.
