The seminar was held as part of the "Eco-Camp 2025" initiative and brought together young participants as well as representatives from the Ministry of ecology, environmental protection and climate change. Among the attendees were Zarrina Abdullaeva, Head of Department at the Ministry and Erkin Mukhitdinov, Director of the Forestry Agency under the Ministry.
In his speech, Erkin Mukhitdinov emphasized the growing urgency of addressing environmental issues.
“Water scarcity, desertification, environmental pollution, waste, vehicle emissions, and other natural and human-induced factors pose serious threats to our ecology. Your initiatives and engagement are essential in finding effective solutions to these challenges. I thank you for your commitment to protecting the environment and encourage you to remain even more active,” he told the youth.
During the seminar, young participants shared their views and proposals for solving environmental problems.
“Our region is considered one of the most vulnerable to desertification in the country,” said Dilmexra Bozorova, a student at Navoi State University. “This issue is also worsening in other areas such as the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Bukhara region. To combat desertification, it’s crucial to expand green spaces and plant drought-resistant trees.”
Throughout the seminar, participants also received practical tips on how to treat nature with greater care and responsibility.
The "Eco-Camp 2025" events are ongoing.
