Important! After harvesting grain crops, all plant residues must be collected from the fields and measures must be taken to prevent fires on these areas.
Attention! Burning straw releases toxic substances into the atmosphere that are harmful to human health, including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur oxide. It also causes significant economic damage.
Moreover, burning straw and its residues drastically reduces soil fertility and disrupts its structure. The high temperatures caused by fire destroy essential macro- and micronutrients, ultimately lowering the soil’s agricultural value and productivity.
This violation is subject to a fine of 10 BCV (3,750,000 sums), in accordance with Part 3 of Article 88 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Additionally, economic penalties are applied under the current procedures to compensate for damages per hectare of affected crops.
Such cases also constitute a violation of environmental requirements and land use regulations for farms, as outlined in Articles 40 and 79 of the Land Code and Article 17 of the Law “On Farming.”
At the national level, instances of illegal straw burning are monitored daily via satellite imagery provided by the "Uzbekkosmos" Agency for Space Research and Technology. The collected data is promptly relayed to the Ministry of Ecology and law enforcement agencies.
Remember: Protecting the environment is our shared responsibility and ecological duty.
