Lion cub taken under state protection in Samarkand Region

The investigation revealed that a resident of Samarkand District had attempted to hide an African lion cub in the yard of a summer house located in the "Okboyro" mahalla. The animal was discovered tied to a metal fence. It was given first aid and then transferred to the regional cynological center for temporary care, where it remains under special supervision and has undergone a veterinary examination.
At present, relevant documents are being processed regarding the violation, and the regional prosecutor’s office is conducting a legal assessment of the incident.
For reference: Previously, authorities uncovered the illegal keeping of one Amur tiger and seven pythons in a house in Tashkent Region, as well as another lion cub in the Romitan District of Bukhara Region.
