Over the course of three days, specialists from government agencies, scientific institutions, and non-governmental organizations are engaging in discussions on modern approaches to identifying sources of air pollution and strengthening their practical skills in using open-access satellite platforms.
A key focus of the training is the use of satellite data to analyze air pollution episodes, including dust and sand storms, which are increasingly affecting various regions of Uzbekistan. Experts presented successful case studies of applying satellite-based tools in Central Asian cities and emphasized the importance of integrating remote sensing technologies into the country’s national environmental monitoring system.
The seminar also explored prospects for further digitalization of Uzbekistan’s environmental control system. Representatives from the Ministry of Ecology, international partners, and seminar participants expressed a shared interest in deepening cooperation and advancing the use of innovative solutions in environmental protection.
