Transcaspian urial captured by a camera trap

A camera trap installed in the "South Ustyurt" National Park under the under the Ministry of ecology, environmental protection and climate change has captured footage of transcaspian urials grazing.

The transcaspian urial is a subspecies with a limited range and is classified as endangered. It is listed in the Red Data Book of Uzbekistan and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Its primary habitat includes the southern part of the Ustyurt Plateau, particularly the Kozokli–Koplonkir area, the “Dry Lake,” the Sarykamysh depressions, and the eastern sections of the southern escarpments. This species is part of a transboundary population that extends into Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
For reference: Located in the Kungrad District of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the "South Ustyurt" National Park was established on November 11, 2020. It is home to 149 animal species, 36 of which are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
