The white-tailed eagle is a vulnerable, naturally rare, migratory nominative subspecies. It is listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), as well as in Appendix I of CITES and Appendix I of the Bonn Convention.
The population of this bird has always been low, but in recent years, there has been a growth in numbers. The total population is estimated to be around 10,000 individuals. In the early 2000s, nests of these birds were spotted on the Ustyurt Plateau, and 17 years later, near the Sudochye Lakes.
For reference: The National Nature Park "Priaralie" was established on August 23, 2019, in the Buzatovsky district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The park is home to around 150 species of animals, 17 of which are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
