The environment of Yukori-Chirchik District sustained damage exceeding 4 billion sums

During the inspection, an illegal extraction of sand and gravel mixture was discovered near the protected area of the Chirchik River, which flows through the Nurafshon mahalla of Yukori-Chirchik District. The extraction was carried out using special machinery without state registration plates and the material was being loaded into cargo trucks.
While the machinery was being transported to an impound lot located within the district, the drivers disobeyed lawful orders and fled the scene. Their actions constituted violations of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Nature Protection” and “On Subsoil”.
The offence caused damage to the environment in the amount of 4 billion 347 million 712 thousand 454 sums.
All case materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of Tashkent Region for further investigation.
