Spring is in full bloom in the Surkhan State Nature Reserve, overseen by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change. Among the most captivating sights are the abundant blooms of Tulipa ingens, which lend exceptional beauty to the landscape.

Tulipa ingens, a member of the lily family, is a perennial bulbous plant with a monocot structure. This rare and endemic species is on the brink of extinction and is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is found in the Samarkand, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions — particularly in the Zaravshan, Kughitang and Hissar mountain ranges. The flower typically grows on clayish mountain slopes at elevations between 1,600 and 2,000 meters above sea level.
For reference, the Surkhan State Nature Reserve was established on September 8, 1986, in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region. The reserve is home to more than 800 species of flora.
