This initiative was implemented as part of the joint project “Automation of atmospheric air pollution monitoring.” As a result, a “ring” of monitoring stations has been formed around the capital, serving as a tool for comprehensive observation of air quality. The data collected allows for the assessment of the overall condition and trends in pollutant concentrations, depending on the time of day, season and meteorological conditions.
In addition, the ring monitoring system enables forecasting of which areas of the city may be exposed to elevated levels of harmful substances. Data analysis from the automatic stations is essential for urban planning, zoning, and the development of strategies to improve the city’s environmental situation.
For reference: Since the beginning of the project, 23 automatic air monitoring stations have been installed across Uzbekistan. These stations have been connected to the unified national database at monitoring.meteo.uz.
