As part of the ongoing Samarkand Climate Forum and the nationwide project "Yashil Makon," a green garden is being created at the Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex.

The tree planting ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Forest Agency, official delegations from foreign countries and the European Union, representatives from UN organizations, international organizations, research institutes, leading companies, non-governmental non-profit organizations, and the media.

During the event, tree saplings suitable for the region's climate conditions were planted. Among them were 30 willows, 40 acacias, 40 Japanese sophoras, 35 elms (guzhum), 30 ash trees, 30 white birches, and 35 fruit trees.

For reference: On February 4, the official opening of the Samarkand Climate Forum took place. The forum also includes sessions on topics such as green economy, water resource management, transition to clean energy, sustainable city development, and involving youth in climate issues.

The Samarkand Climate Forum aims to unite regional efforts in finding effective solutions to global climate challenges, strengthen cooperation in this field, and attract the international community’s attention to climate issues.
