Illegal import of fishing nets into Uzbekistan was prevented

The Ministry of Ecology, environmental protection and climate change, in cooperation with the State Customs Office of Tashkent City, examined fishing nets imported into Uzbekistan.
During the inspection it was found that the nets are made of synthetic fiber and their dimensions do not meet the established norms.
For reference: according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 80 from February 9, 2024 “On the approval of the Rules for fishing in natural water bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, it is prohibited to use any nets that do not have special markings and not registered by the authorized body, as well as gill nets (cape), gear with more than 10 hooks, hook gear, electric fishing rods, trap nets and other poaching tools and means of fishing.
The circumstances are being investigated further to find out all the details and take appropriate measures.
