Offenders in Denov district will pay significant compensation

The Department of Ecology, environmental protection and climate change of Surkhandarya Region, in cooperation with the regional branch of the National Guard, conducted another inspection raid.
During the raid in Denov District, authorities discovered illegal sand and gravel extraction from the Surkhan River by citizens R.Sh. and E.A.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the violators under Part 1 of Article 70 of the Code on Administrative Responsibility and each offender was fined 11 million 250 thousand sums. Additionally, the environmental damage caused by the illegal extraction amounted to 8 million 709 thousand 120 sums.
The responsible parties will pay a total compensation of 31 million 209 thousand 120 sums.
