What to expect from the Samarkand сlimate forum

On April 4-5, the Silk Road Samarkand Congress Center will host one of the largest events in the field of ecology and climate change—the Samarkand Climate Forum.

Under the theme "Central Asia facing global climate challenges-consolidation for common prosperity," the forum will bring together leading global experts, government officials, and representatives of international organizations to discuss urgent issues related to climate change and sustainable development.

The event will be attended by delegations from 82 countries, including heads of state, ministers responsible for the environment, economy and water resources, as well as representatives of the UN, international financial institutions and expert community. 

Key themes of the forum
The event will serve as a high-level dialogue platform and will feature specialized sessions on the following topics:

•The green economy as a path to sustainable development
•Preserving biodiversity and natural ecosystems of Central Asia in response to climate challenges
•Clean energy: a foundation of sustainable and environmentally friendly development
•Integrated water resources management under climate change in Central Asia
•Youth: Looking to the Future with Optimism
•Sustainable cities and climate challenges: integrated planning and management
•Scientific approaches and innovative solutions to climate change: global challenges and local strategies

As part of the forum, a special exhibition titled "A river flowing in the footsteps of women" will be presented. This exhibition will explore the intersection of social role transformations and environmental changes during the era of socialist development through an intersectional lens.
