To raise public awareness about wildlife and flora, on December 20, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming March 3 as World Wildlife Day.

This year's theme is "Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet", It highlights the role of digital tools and technology in enhancing conservation efforts and ensuring a sustainable future for both people and the planet.
With over 1 million species estimated to be threatened with extinction, and facing the intensifying triple planetary crisis, innovative finance for wildlife conservation is more urgent than ever.
For reference: Uzbekistan’s biodiversity includes around 27,000 species, among them approximately 15,000 invertebrates, over 700 vertebrates, more than 100 mammals, around 500 bird species, over 60 reptiles and about 80 fish species and other fauna representatives.
