Illegal extraction of sand and gravel causes environmental damage exceeding 3.5 billion sums

The Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Tashkent region, together with officers from the post-patrol service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs, conducted a night raid.

During the raid in Pskent district, in the Ahangaran River bed, a case of illegal extraction of sand and gravel using special equipment was identified: a loader  and a HOWO truck.

As a result, the damage to nature was estimated at 3 billion 696 million 204 thousand 960 sums.

The collected documents have been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office for a legal assessment of the case. The confiscated vehicles have been placed in an impound lot.
