For Reference: "Yukori-Tupalang" National Nature Park was established in March 2022 in the Sariosiyo district of the Surkhandarya region. The park is located on the southwestern slopes of the Gissar Range and covers an altitude range from 930 meters to 3,700 meters above sea level. It is home to 46 species of fauna, 20 of which are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
The snow leopard is a large predator and the only feline species that primarily inhabits cold climates. The snow leopard is listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the IUCN Red List and CITES Appendix I, holding the status of an vulnerable species.
An interesting fact about snow leopards is their incredible jumping ability—they can leap up to 15 meters in length, which is six times the length of their own body! This remarkable skill helps them hunt in the mountains, effortlessly navigating rocky terrain.
